Of course, I took the author at her word and just went and upgraded Wordpress. Then I went back and read how to figure out if my installation had already been attacked, and what to do in that case, which is to completely remove the installation and to not export the database. I think that’s information that probably should be included at the top of the post. Before the “impending doom, take action now” part. In any case, I know better than to listen to people when they say, “read no further!–”

Hi everyone!

My blog was down due to host craziness for a while, but now it’s back, and I don’t forsee any blag problems arising in the near future. Many thanks to my husband Richard and the admins of the host for figuring this stuff out.

Anyway, this is just a simple announcement that my blog is back.

Upgrade

Oh man. I just upgraded Wordpress from a freaking legacy 2.0.x version (I forget which) to the current stable version, 2.6. I also upgraded my theme, veryplaintxt. This activity just about gave me a heart attack. But it’s all good. Everything’s okay now. It went fine.

I imagine in a different world, where Richard was not my husband, I would not be quite so concerned (”oh, hey, I just blew away my blog, I’ll just start over, who cares”) but ever since I have known him, one of the constant refrains I hear is “backupbackupbackupbackup…” and so I get panicked about data that is not backed up safely. In triplicate. In an off-site location protected with a halon security system. On a helium-cooled drive. With a black ops security team guarding it, ready to trigger relocation to a secret geosynchronous satellite caching station.

However, in this world, Richard is my husband, and yesterday was our 3rd anniversary. SWEET!

I decided a long time ago that I needed a way to talk about my art and photography, and a better way to organize the images. I’m still working on the organization thing, but I’m going to start now with the talking. If you want to take see my original attempt at a website showing a bit of my art and photography, it’s here.

By the way– I’m not a writer, and I often second-guess myself, and I feel a bit shy about this, but I’ll do my best.
