About Jess

Beemouse Labs and the Beemouse Institute for Advanced Study are fine institutes of research and higher learning where most of the world’s silly dances, genetically engineered trousers, psychotropic nouns, and cute, fuzzy animals like mice, kittens, and bees are studied.

I am a photographer and illustrator with a “unique” background. I received a degree in physics, and later a certificate in scientific illustration, from the University of Washington. I am currently taking classes towards a certificate in Medical Assisting. However, the most important part of my education took place in elementary school where I spent many hours drawing unicorns and princesses and antagonizing my drill team instructors. My first photographs, circa 1989, were of the horses on the other side of the playground fence.

I sometimes sell photography prints and illustrations in my Etsy shop, which can be found at http://uhoh.etsy.com.

(Heaven Lotz is my married name, but I still haven’t done the paperwork to change it from Hirsch, and there is some confusion at the Beemouse Institute as to whether I should actually keep both last names. We’ve created a task force of hard-hitting name analysts to tackle this issue, so if you have been redirected from www.jessieheavenlotz.com, don’t panic.)

You can reach me at jhirsch at gmail.com.
