I would like to share this photo of a dahlia, picked from my yard, sitting in my dingy kitchen window, backlit by the sun:
I never thought I liked dahlias much until I they started blooming in my yard. They were planted by the previous tenants and are coming up everywhere. It’s such a pleasure to have an abundance of flowers right where I live, and to be able to pick them and bring them inside and arrange them in a pleasing manner.
