A quick post to let you know I have a new original painting up for sale on Etsy:
I was inspired by a long new shoot of climbing rose reaching up into the clear, darkening dusk sky… I wanted to paint it, but felt like I should take a reference photo. Then I thought, that shouldn’t be necessary– just memorize it. I tried, and went inside, and painted… and it doesn’t look so much like a rose bramble as a maple branch, maybe… In any case, I like it.
