Today, Internet, I would like to share with you a photo of a chickadee holding a grub in its beak, on its way to feed its babies, who lived in a little house in a tree in my yard.

I was just asking the other day if there were Chickadees here. Not really having winter anymore (since growing up in Maine), the birds coming back don’t seem so significant. I realized that I missed the “chickadee-dee-dee” of spring.
There *are* chickadees here! But here, the first birds of spring are robins, I think… at least, that’s usually the first wildlife sound to cheer me out of my winter “I want to die, it’s so goddamn cold and dark here” mood.
